Conservation Trees & Shrubs

Natrona County Conservation District's Seedling Tree & Shrub Program provides affordable yet quality tree and shrub stock for planting effective living windbreaks and erosion control barriers in rural areas and on small acreages.  Non-potted seedling trees only cost between $1.00 to $2.20 per tree!  Trees are sold in bundles of 10 or 25 depending upon the size of the tree ordered.

While we are no longer taking tree orders for the 2013 season, we will begin ordering again in October of 2013 for delivery in May of 2014.

The 2013 Tree Program was a tremendous success thanks to all of you who ordered trees!  There were 6,400 trees sold this year!

The order form for the 2013-2014 tree season will be available in late October of 2013.  So that you have the best selection, make your order early.  Trees that do sell out will be unavailable until the next ordering season.  The order form will be continuously updated to reflect any "out of stocks".  FOR INFORMATION ONLY, but to give an idea of the trees that we provide, here is the  2012-2013 Seedling Tree Order Form.

No warranty or guarantee, expressed or implied, is made by the Natrona County Conservation District for any plant materials. We do not receive any guarantee from our wholesale nurseries for conservation grade bare root or potted plant materials, and therefore, we cannot offer any guarantees to the public. Plant materials that we have ordered in the past have been very good.

Here are some valuable resources to assist you in your selection, as well as planting information:

Wyoming Tree Owner's Manual - Wyoming State Forestry

Trees for Conservation: a buyers guide - Colorado State Forest Service

Trees for Wyoming - UW Ag Extension

Shrubs for Wyoming - UW Ag Extension

Selection Information - NCCD (An overview of the trees and shrub species that are available through the Natrona County Conservation District.  This is a large document and will take a long time to load.  It is still a work in progress, but it has information & links that will assist with information about almost every tree or shrub that NCCD can order.)

"Sweating" Information - Lincoln Oakes Nursery (trees on the order form that are marked with an asterisk (*) are recommended for sweating)

There is an abundance of information on the internet about each of the available plants and trees, and I have information in my office to assist in tree selection.

The trees that are underlined on the order form are recommended for this area by Wyoming State Forestry. If you have questions, please feel free to call or stop by the office.
